Selkirk Merchant Company Annual General Meeting and Dinner

Selkirk Merchant Company held its Annual General Meeting in O’Malleys, The Valley, Selkirk on Friday evening when Ronn Robertson was appointed the Standard Bearer of the Company, the first Standard Bearer to be appointed for Selkirk Common Riding 2004.

At the dinner which followed John Smail proposed the Toast of the Standard Bearer with Standard Bearer Robertson replying.
The important toast of Selkirk Merchant Company, Town and Trade was given by John Robertson, Hawick with Honorary Provost John Thompson replying.
Peter Ewart gave the Vote of Thanks and Jim Marshall, Master of the Company was in the chair.
Artists for the evening were John Nichol and Ewan Rintoul with new Member Ian Wilkie accompanist at the piano.
