Macmillan cheque presentation
2004 proved to be another successful year for Selkirk's Fiona Scott fund raising activities on behalf of Macmillan cancer relief.
A cheque for £10261.00 was handed over by Fiona to David Grout, Fund Raising Manager of Macmillan cancer relief in Selkirk on Monday 10th January 2005.
The total sum raised was the result of the following events throughout the year - Sponsored walk to the Three Brethren; Louise Bruce's cheese & wine evening; Ian Mitchell's Selkirk photographic quiz night; Favour Auction; Isobel Oliver's cheese & wine evening; Mungo Park Court open day; dressed doll raffle; patchwork quilt draw from Community Council Evening Study Group and many generous donations.
The fund was further enhanced by the sale of 1400 cakes of tablet produced and donated by a Selkirk senior citizen.
Fiona wishes to record her grateful thanks to her many friends who, without their help, these events would not be possible and also to acknowledge the generosity of the people of Selkirk for their continued support for this worthwhile charity.
Fiona's progressive total to date now stands at £21,580.00.
