Tsunami Appeal Concert

A Tsunami Appeal Concert was held in the Victoria Hall, Selkirk on Sunday 16th January 2005.
Tickets went on sale in Selkirk last Saturday (8th January) and were quickly sold out. The Victoria Hall was filled to capacity for the Appeal Concert which commenced at
2 00pm and concluded well after 6 o'clock.
The artists who gave their performances free of charge were Scocha, Shankend Mac, Fiona Scott, Archie Fisher, Ian Lothian, Rod Ward, Selkirk Silver Band, Tommy Knox, Carlinjig, Kieran Halpin, Henry Douglas & Tommy Herdman, Sandy Brechin, Hilary Bell, The Podlies and Real Time. Scottish Borders Council waived the fees for the hall and there was a vast array of back stage, lighting, sound and front of house personnel who ensured the Concert was such an outstanding success.
Special mention was made to the efforts of Organiser Gordon Webster who arranged the Concert at such short notice.
